1960s Calculator

Perhaps one of the most amazing inventions ever, almost every person is familiar with this device particularly the fact that it is used not only by mathematicians but is put into practice by almost everyone. The first calculator was created in the Late 1960s and the pocket version became available in 1970.

The electronic calculators of the mid-1960s were large and heavy desktop machines due to their use of hundreds of transistors on several circuit boards with a large power consumption that required an AC power supply.

1963 -- Bell Punch Co. LTD and Sumlock-Comptometer LTD of England introduce the "Anita" which is claimed to be the world's first fully electronic desk-top calculator
