The History of the 60s


In the 1960s there were many changes that affected lifestyles, culture, society, music, art and entertainment . In this package there are many examples of cards relating to graphic design history in the 1960s. There are 8 collections of cards relating to fashion design, classic cartoon, music, art, important events that happened in the1960s, and famous actress. The 1960s are most remembered by the political, cultural, and social movements that helped to bring about many of these changes.

The sixties were the age of youth, they involved in the popular social aspects of the movement became known as hippies. These groups created a movement toward liberation in society. Art in America of the sixties was influenced by the desire to move into the modern age or future. A new artist who appeared was Andy Warhol, a leading name in pop art. The fashion in the 60s due to this change consisted of colorful fabrics and bold designs that eradicated the formal way of dressing. By mid-decade, miniskirts or hot pants, often worn with go-go boots, were revealing legs. There was a major change in popular music in the mid-1960s. The Woodstock Festival, at which 400,000 young people gathered in a spirit of love and sharing, represents the pinnacle of the hippie movement. The Beatles, from England, burst into popularity with innovative rock music that appealed to all ages.
